THE PASTA TREE

BY ELEONORA MARINO

CREATED IN 2008
ARTISTIC RESIDENCE AT HOUILLES
FOR THE BIENNALE OF YOUNG CREATION 2008

Does pasta grow on a tree? Sheaves of spaghetti, clusters of Pipe Rigate (snail shell pasta), farfalle, penne fruit... A sculptural installation evoking fruit, pasta modules that run with the wind, which react to an environment as living beings.

The work has "lived" for 8 months in front of the town hall of Houilles for the Biennale of Young Creation: it has been transformed by the elements of nature and ultimately consumed by birds. An ephemeral and organic work that could live in other places.

Since 2008, Eleonora Marino has created many installations, shown in different places: galleries, museums, festivals, outdoor urban sites, "in situ", cultural and entertainment centres, theatres, town halls...
