Created in 2011, the project "Du grain à moudre" is made up of several key components:  a theatre show "PANE – everybody seeks their bread," a sensory performance "AS GOOD AS BREAD," a visual Arts installation "Tablecloths", an interactive blog "Culture on the plate" and the happenings. It has also spawned different educational activities.

"Du grain a moudre" main focus is to explore the world of bread, its symbolic value, and its stories. At the discretion of a journey through time and space, ranging from anecdotes to fantasies, it tells us about the place that bread has in our lives...A fundamental, basic staple of human life, bread is an object of sharing, but also an object of tension and struggle.

This project is a continuation of those developed by the Company since 2006, relying on a strong artistic approach: creation of text, video, dance and music.
Since its artistic residence at Houilles in 2008 (for the Biennale of Yung Creation), EMTHEATRE places itself at the heart of artistic interaction with the audience and its surroundings. It creates itinerant, evolutionary and interactive projects. These initiatives remain at the border between the sensory and intercultural, and constitute an identity and poetic encounter.

" We do not consume the same thing all over the world. Yet the one thing that humanity shares is the social significance of meals .The flavors and aromas of the traditional cuisine of a country are, for each of us, a concrete path to its collective memory. The table is also one of the most simple and most direct ways of promoting dialogue between cultures "  EM
